Looking Toward the Summer-June 17, 2011
Dear Parents,
First of all, thank you for all your support during your child's 1st grade year. Learning is always enhanced with the support of parents in the educational process.
Please have your child visit the blog and participate in the links listed. Of highest priority, you need to visit the following:
1. RAZ-kids reading Teacher username: ewpkids
2. IXL Math Same username and password
3. Sight Words With Samson: Practice again, especially the incomplete lists (check the scoreboard) and red boxes. Complete the entire program over the summer. This helps in writing, spelling and reading.
4. Any others you like!!
Please realize that unless the practice of current reading and math skills are continually visited throughout the summer, loss of their current level of performance will occur. Please visit the following web-sites to read about Summer Reading and Math loss.

Lastly, please continue to use your child's Reader's Response Log over the summer. Monitor their handwriting and use the Hight Frequency Word List in the back of the notebook.
