We're continuing work in Reading with our new story of the week: The Big Circle, a fictional story about dinosaurs. We've also got a special project planned with our Reading and Math Buddies 3rd Grade class from Mrs. DiLorenzo.
I'm asking you to please step-up the homework commitment from parents. Most of the links are not begin utilized to their fullest extent. Please set a time aside each night for your child to read, and/or complete 30 minutes of time with the links provided on this site.
Please, please take note of this request. Practice makes perfect and we'll have even higher expectations of your student when they return in the new year.
Have a great week.
Visit those links, and READ, READ, and READ some more.

No School on Thursday, 11 November, and ...... thank you for your service!
Welcome back! We survived the rains of autumn last week and unlike Vicenza, our bus drivers/parent escorts were very efficient! Of course, we didn't have the floods they experienced either.
This week we'll have another day (& possibly two days) with a substitute! I will attend the training for the new Pearson Reading/Language Arts Reading Street adoption on Tuesday, and I'll also possibly be out on Friday. Encourage your child's full cooperation for the substitute-thank you!
Thank for sending in your confirmation slips for Parent Teacher Conferences scheduled for 15-16/Monday-Tuesday/November of next week. We've collected some great artifacts from the last 9 weeks and their progress toward mastery of 1st grade standards will be at the center of discussion during our scheduled appointment time.
We're also looking forward to our first Study Trip to Stradella's Pasticerria. Please return your permission slips, and 1.50 Euro in a zip-loc bag with name on the outside. It's such a fun trip and hopefully the rain won't show up in the a.m. for our walking travels.
Please check the Homework Links, and renew your commitment to the IXL Math, RAZ-KIDS Reading,& Samson's Classroom with spelling and sight words all-in-one!
The links will be change on Monday afternoon, so watch for the recent deletions and additions.
Farewell to Lannette on Tuesday, we'll miss you so much!!!
