NO SPELLING LIST THIS WEEK!!
I'm posting early for the last week of school before Spring Recess. It will be a 3-day week with Monday 5 April a Teacher Inservice Day with no students and Friday, 9 April as a Teacher Work Day for the end of quarter report cards. School will be held on Tuesday(6th), Wednesday (7th), and Thursday (8th) only. Spring Recess schedule is NO school from 9-18 April. Have a wonderful up-coming break and keep reading and writing over the break. This is also a great time to catch up on your MUST DO homework links: IXL Math, RAZ-kids Reading, Sight Words with Samson, and Spelling City. Thanks for carrying through with continued efforts on school work at home.

Our Study Trip was amazing. I had my worries, but all of them were diminished during the beautiful morning bus ride to the farm and the wonderful time which was had by all. The students became masters at pasta making and learned the art and science of using an egg and deliciously fresh-ground flours to hand-make the dough for their specialities. The farm provided an excellent opportunity for them to explore the outdoors and notice the signs of spring, interact with the many farm animals, and design dandelion (and a few daffodil (whoops!) bouquets. They sampled fresh wheat grains that were used in the making of the flour and had a picnic that put our cafeteria ambiance to shame. Thank you to the many moms that accompanied us and made the trip so memorable. Hats off to Mrs. Littleton, Mrs. Chavez, Mrs. Valdez, Mrs. Albert, Mrs. Boyd, and Mrs. Fraga. We lost a few coats, but will more than likely get them back from our wonderful Italian hostesses at the farm very soon.
Keep working on learning and the links provided for spring activities.
Sure hope you enjoy the slide show! Happy Spring and we'll see you back on Monday, the 19th of April.
Until then,
Mrs. Petty
